We at ReCab want to support all vocabulary learners, regardless of whether they are beginners, advanced or qualified speakers of the foreign language. Since we haven't found an easy-to-use and free program, we just wrote one ourselves. Although you may not find the most beautiful, you will find a very useful program for learning a new language. ReCab does not use an own file-format, instead we use TXT- or CSV-files. Therefore you do not have to worry about a complex editing process or the loss of your VoCab-list, if you want to use your VoCab-list elsewhere e.g., a printed version.
Many different options in the settings bring you the possibility to customize each ReCab of your VoCab. Shuffle your VoCab, repeat often mistaken VoCab more often. Do you want to have a quick ReCab between two phone calls at work? No problem, just set the amount of VoCab to "Random 25%". After work you can gain more experience with the amount setting of "All". ReCab follows your way of life not the other way around!

Yes, ReCab is completely free to use. All functions can be used by anyone free of charge.
We use TXT and CSV files to store all relevant informations. Both file formats can be edited in different applications. The most common software for TXT-files are the Microsoft Notepad or Notepad++ on Windows or vim, nano or GEdit on Linux. CSV files can also be edited by the same programs. Alternatively, they can be opened using a table calculation program like Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets or OpenOffice and LibreOffice Calc.
